“Frida Kahlo: Timeless” Exhibition Virtual Tours

Virtual tours of the blockbuster exhibition "Frida Kahlo: Timeless" with original artwork by iconic Mexican painter Frida Kahlo will continue through October 15 in honor of National Latino Heritage Month. The virtual tour includes a twenty-six-piece collection of Kahlo's work on loan from the Museo Dolores Olmedo as well as a multimedia timeline, 100+ photographic images from the artist’s life, a family-friendly children’s area, and a Frida Kahlo-inspired garden designed by Ball Horticultural Company, enabling museum-goers of all ages to grasp an understanding of Kahlo’s life and work through a variety of contexts. A Time to Grieve: Día de Los Muertos Exhibition

National Museum of Mexican Art 1852 W. 19th St., Chicago

This year’s exhibition pays tribute to and remembers the numerous individuals from Mexico and the U.S. who have died from COVID-19. The National Museum of Mexican Arts invites all to contemplate this moment with new artistic expressions by local artists and site-specific installations created by artists from both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border. Adam Toledo, the thirteen-year-old whom Chicago police shot and killed earlier this year in La Villita, is also being remembered at the museum's exhibit. The museum is open Tuesday-Sunday; closed on Monday.
