If you’re new, read our Getting Started / FAQ!

Claim a Pitch

Click a record to expand and read the full story description.

To claim a pitch, scroll to the bottom of the record and click the “claim pitch” button.

Fill out the form and an editor will be in touch within 5 business days.

Scroll all the way down and click on ‘View larger version’ on the bottom right to open in a separate window.

Submit a Pitch

Use this form to suggest a story for South Side Weekly that you want to write or want someone else to cover.

A good pitch should set up a story idea, explain why it’s compelling to cover, provide basic background information about the issue, and suggest some reporting avenues of inquiry and research.

Click here for more detailed pitching guidelines.

Office Hours

Find a time on the calendar to schedule a 30min meeting with an editor.

Submit an Invoice

Please generate an invoice and submit it via the form below. If you need a template, we recommend using invoice-generator.com–it’s simple and free.

Please make sure your invoice includes the following:

  • Your name
  • A brief description of the work performed
  • Your full address, including city, state, and zip code
  • The date of the invoice
  • The service provided and the date it was provided
  • The amount due
  • A unique invoice number (Ex. #001, #002)

We run payments every Tuesday. Invoices received after 10am Tuesday will be processed the following Tuesday.

Please note that direct deposit takes 2-3 business days to appear in your account from the time a payment is run.

If this is your first time submitting an invoice, you’ll receive an email from Gusto, our payment processor, within 1 week. You’ll have to set up an account in Gusto before your first payment can be processed.

If you have any questions about your payment please email malik.jackson@southsideweekly.com
